I've had an interesting last couple of days to say the least. After a 7 and a half hour drive from Illinois to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, I was able to visit the state in all its splendor.
This included the beautiful mountain decor and forest areas (which was wonderful research for a currently unannounced novel I'm writing), and enjoy the "tourist trap" areas such as the Wax Museum and the many, many neighboring stores. Personally, the most fun I had was simply exploring the vast and picturesque scenery and Ripley's Aquarium. I can't say I'm ready to uproot and move to the mountains like some of my more enthusiastic family members (including my fiancee Beccah Grace who grew up in the area), but it was a nice change of pace.
The last week has been a dramatic change-of-pace from only one week prior, where I woke up at five in the morning writhing in pain. That morning saw me arrive at the Emergency Room experiencing one of the worst discomforts in recent memory: a kidney stone! Like the mountains, the kidney stone has been a wonderful bit of research, as now I can accurately depict a lot of what Prince Roxwale (my main-character from The Chosen Two) felt during one sequence of the book.... Great.
This isn't to say I've spent the last couple weeks shooting the breeze. After all, .EXE 2020 must continue!
While I don't have any groundbreaking revelations to drop in the fourth update (I won't be announcing the fourth novel of 2020 for instance), I had a very solid last few weeks.
In some smaller updates, I've begun development of the 14th episode for The Adventures of Vulpecula (The Canes III). Although I am not yet ready to update the current percentage, things are moving forward in a progressive way, and I see no reason why I should have the episode finished by the end of July (which is one of the three official goals of July). As for The Chosen Two, I am actually able to update the percentage, although, only by a mere 2.0%. I am still polishing a lot of what I've already written, and so, it won't be til mid-July I start to really dig into it (the current goal for July is to reach 15,000 words for The Chosen Two).
Spade has received a substantial increase in the last two weeks, going from 20% finished to 28% finished (the current goal for July is to reach 35,000 words for Spade - meanwhile, I finished 2,000 words ahead of June's goal of 25,000 words).
That's really all I have to say to wrap-up for the month of June. I've set out a list of goals that go as far as December 2020 and I was able to survive Round One. In July, the goal-post is further - but with the way this month has went, I might end up completing certain goals out of order. We'll have to wait and see. I'll see you next time for my mid-month July update where I share my progress, as well as the fourth novel I'm working on for next year.
